Bichon's working with Autistic children
Since my last posting I have added a second Bichon to the group. Teddi is 9 yrs old and has gone through Therapy Dog Certification successfuly.
I have receently retired and sold my business. We currently volunteer about 16 hours a week.
Our visits consist of 3 nursing homes, 5 special children schools, YMCA, Modern Maturity Center.
In September we will expand our current primary project with Autistic children. We have great success in only 3 months with the children improving motor skills, making eye contact, and most important, speaking, many for the first time.
Anyone out there doing similar work, keep in touch.
